VISIT OF DAVE HOUGHTON ON TUESDAY 14TH JANUARY 2020

To be able to listen to someone of Dave Houghton’s vast experience – speaking among other things about his background and early career,
the highlights of his Test and World Cup career, cricketers he had played with and admired, the early influences on his coaching and his coaching in this country -
made a very interesting evening for our members.

There was of course even more interest in his views on the prospects for Derbyshire in 2020 and beyond, and his thoughts on the future of cricket generally here and elsewhere.
The county’s Head of Cricket spoke with his usual quiet confidence and optimism.
The realistic appraisal of what he hopes for in the new season was food for thought and left members with the feeling that the future of Derbyshire cricket is in good hands.

We were most grateful to Dave for giving us such a good start to the New Year.
